Mindful or Prayerful

Every day my Apple watch reminds me to have a mindful moment. It’s one of those annoying alerts that pop on the screen through out the day. I suppose its suggesting that we take a look inward at ourselves, to take a deep breath once in a while to make sure we are at peace. That our minds are steady. That we may be ready to take on whatever lies ahead. But the inner peace that we feel can change on a whim depending on a mood, or something that happens beyond our control. Okay, lets settle our thoughts, focus on that feeling of calm and peacefulness. Ah. I know of a peace that doesn’t come from our minds… it can only come from knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. He alone is the one that can give true peace. Let’s look at what the Bible says in Philippians 4 verse 7: And the Peace of God which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. KJV We are reminded in His Word, that we should not worry. Worry can steal our peace. Think on that for a moment. We can focus all day long on our inward peace, but let worry come flooding into our minds and what happens… the peace that we thought we mastered washes away. Keeping our minds and hearts on Christ and what He did on the Cross of Calvary. What did Jesus do for us, while we were yet sinners…. He died for us. He took every sin of mankind to the Cross and paid it all. The Lord Jesus Christ did what we can’t do for ourselves. No matter how hard we try to do better, think better, feel better… we can’t make it better until we realize our need for a Savior. In Colossians 3 verse 15: And let the Peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body; and be ye thankful. KJV

*Just a random thought…. I will be updating this neglected blog.*

May your day be blessed.
